Currently there are a whole slew of Mac OS X browsers in beta right now: Safari 4, Firefox 3.1/3.5, Camino 2.0 and OmniWeb 5.9sp. After playing around with them a bit, here’s a brief overview:
Safari 4
SunSpider Score: 790ms
When this beta was released by Apple a couple weeks ago it caught everyone by surprise. I’ve never been a big Safari user, so I figured it would be pretty safe for me to test out. Unfortunately for me, it has a strange issue with Mail.app and GrowlMail causing Mail to crash when it checks for new mail (here’s a workaround).
Safari 4 is fast. Super fast,...

A question was asked on LinkedIn regarding these three CMS systems. Although I answered it there, I thought a longer post was warranted.
DotNetNuke
I probably have the most experience using DotNetNuke. I’ve built several sites using DotNetNuke, I’ve installed it on my own servers and have even attempted to build a module for it.
DotNetNuke (DNN) is incredibly powerful, but it’s also easy to use (once it’s installed). The best thing about DNN is that the administration of the site is completely integrated into the site itself. You can be viewing a page, click a button...

Anyway, I was not able to sit at my desk for a couple weeks. I’m mostly better now, but sitting in hard, straight chairs is still uncomfortable.
While I was stuck lying down I came across an ad for an office chair in Newsweek. It was called SwingChair and it was supposed to be especially for people with flaky backs.
I went to the web site to check it out and after pondering it for a week or so, went ahead...

For the last couple years I’ve been using my personal 20″ iMac Core Duo as my work computer. Lately I’ve been needing something more portable so I’ve been keeping an eye on the MacBook Pro. With my transition to work for LogicalVue full-time, I wanted to have a dedicated work computer. And coincidently, Apple announced new MacBook Pros on February 26th.
I had been waiting for the new MacBook Pros to be announced so that I could weigh the new features against the prices for refurbished models. With the announcement of the new models, the price of a refurbished 2.4Ghz...
